PLATE 50 - EXTREMELY RARE POSSIBLY UNIQUE? IMPERFORATE EXAMPLE USED ON COVER - 8 October 1862 env. to London franked with 1d red plate 50 alphabet IV lettered RE error imperforate, three close to large margins and just slightly into along the base, tied by 782 numeral of TEIGNMOUTH (cds on the back along with LONDON receiver); matched with a perforated example. 1979 BPA cert; SG Spec C12k unpriced (imperf from plate 51 priced by SG at £5750 off cover).
