General - World
Sale No: 83
Lot No: 21025

Cat No: Collection

Collector’s 40? Year old general accumulation, comprising a motley (but not to be under-estimated) assortment of some 22 boxes of all shapes and sizes. Quite obviously surplus material has simply built up and been stashed away for a rainy day. However, as with many Collectors that rainy day never came because the main far more valuable collections commanded ‘collector-time’. Comprising, in no particular order … collector ‘life-time’ hoard duplicates, packets, mixture (off-paper), covers, curios, FDC’s (no especial value), stationery, postcards (mainly modern), items back to QV and Kings, but generally ‘accumulation quality’, difficult to be sure of ratio – but possibly an 80% collectables / 20% stamp catalogues/associate material … all part of the general accumulation, but not particularly financially valued naturally. Occasional better old colonial ranges, India, duplicated KGVI used Malay low vals, but then suddenly the lot surprises by something worth looking up / checking. All collectors may identify with such feelings. The whole, basically balances/remainders collected/extracted from, with the better/best items progressed to the focus of the main collections of B.E. KGVI used and GB QV onward. Nevertheless, there’s mileage here for the right bidder and a winter’s worth of fun. However, this lot may not actually weigh even half or even a quarter tonne, but it feels like one; care needs to be exercised here, because even though we will consolidate the 22 boxes, this will cost many hundreds of pounds to ship overseas (overseas bidders must enquire before bidding) and probably circa £150 extra to be added to the winning bidder’s invoice for shipping/delivery within the UK.
