image Italian Colonies - Eritrea: 1936 picture postcard from Italy to Somalia, with stamp floated off carried by the ''S.S Cesare Battisti'' which was disembarking passengers at Massawa when the vessel's boiler exploded killing twenty-six people and seriously injuring over a hundred more; the ship sank and came to rest at the bottom of the harbour. Bearing label in Italian vernacular translated as ''Recovered from SS Cesare Battisti Accident 21/12/1936 XV" (fifteenth year of the fascist regime), rare, stated to be only one of the TWO items known from this disaster.
