image 1916/19, 1st Peking printing 1/2 C.-$20 cpl. set with *two* specimen ovpts: the usual capitals and non-seriff normal script below, but for or the $20, the small ovpt. is above the capitals, mounted mint in very fresh condition. The 1996 auction card had a handwritten note by the noted expert Peter Holcombe: "Both Marks 'Specimen' are genuine / PH". Auction report: Wolff-Auktion Hamburg 5/1996. - Probably unique item, exhibition material of highest rarity. (Image)

Originally the cover was addressed to Waikwan but seemingly forwarded. Unusual non-ovpt. usage in Singkiang. Singkiang military commission censor tape.
