image 1/JA/1929 Buenos Aires - Asunción del Paraguay - Buenos Aires - Montevideo: 2 Covers carried on experimental flight of Aeroposta Argentina S.A., subsidiary of Compañía General Aeropostal (round flights, the return flight to Uruguay). The first cover, outbound leg, bears a dispatching cancel of Buenos Aires 31/DE/1928 (day before the flight, which took off on 1/JA at 6 am, there were 2 LATE-25 monoplanes which carried less than 5 covers) and Asunción arrival with date error (it says February), sent by Count Dedalot. The return flight has a dispatching cancel of Asunción 1/JA/1929 (the planes took off on 2/JA at 6 am and carried less than 10 covers, and this piece is the ONLY ONE with final destination Uruguay!), with Buenos Aires arrival of 2/JA and Montevideo arrival of 3/JA (on back at bottom right) and another one of 16/MAR when it was probably delivered, and SIGNED BY PILOT FICARELLI. Excellent lot, UNIQUE, fantastic document from the times of the early development of Argentine aviation with small planes and daring pilots! Ex-Algerio Nonis (Image)

image EXTREMELY RARE PLANE CRASH: Airmail cover dispatched on 18/FE/1961 from ship Yapeyú at sea to Europe, with Argentine postage of 10P. (GJ.1140 + 1199 x5), it was unloaded in Natal, Sal or Tenerife to be loaded in the IBERIA Lockheed L1049 Super Constellation airplane that flew Madrid - Tenerife - Sal - Natal - Sao Paulo - Montevideo - Buenos Aires - Santiago, and that crashed landed at the airport of Congonhas in Sao Paulo on 6/MAR/1961 due to strong cross winds. The passengers and crew were quickly evacuated (there were no casualties), but the plane caught fire and was almost complety destroyed, very few elements could be salvaged, such as this letter, with evident signs of the fire. It was put inside an ambulance cover by the Brazilian Post and sent to its final destination, with the typical violet handstamp. Excellent and very rare cover for airmail experts, possibly UNIQUE piece dispatched from a ship at sea and salvaged from a plane crash related to Argentina! (Image)
