Ranson in not in Washington please forward to him at once"; handstamped "FORWARDED" and redirected to Weldon, N.C. with a neat Sep 20 Washington D.C. c.d.s., plus a Washington D.C. Carrier c.d.s. of the same date on the reverse; part of top flap missing, Very Fine. Ranson was a Confederate General and later a U.S. Senator from North Carolina (1872-1895). (Image)
