[crown] R./OPENED UNDER MARTIAL LAW" label applied (creased over fold). Readdressed to Cape Town, with transit & receipt d/s c2 weeks later.

South Africa: Orange Free State 1900 long envelope BLOEMFONTEIN to PIETERMARITZ franked V.R.I. ½d to 5/- 2nd print (no 2½d, 6d is blue). Canc Bloemfontein JU 21, 19 (!) & receiving mark Pietermaritz 21 JU 1900. Most unusual. Envelope a bit tatty, trimmed at right, resealed (officially?) at base.
