1944 Air mail envelope from the Arabian American Oil Company, BAHRAIN Island, Persian Gulf to 'Headquarters Persian Gulf Command, U.S. Army, Office of the Fiscal Director, TEHERAN, Iran' franked 1934-42 1g., 3g. and 10g. plus compulsatory tax stamp 1/8g., all tied by indistinct strike of bilingual datestamp, with framed "PASSED BY CENSOR/BAHRAIN" in violet, further small censor handstamps, and with Basra transit backstamp. Envelope with a central fold and 3g. stamp damaged at top, but a scarce censored cover.
