TINY ISLAND OF IONA - THE RARE "IONA IONA" SCOTS LOCAL CANCELLATION ON 1d 'STARS' ON PIECE; Fine 12 Nov. 1858 piece with fine 1d Red 'Stars' tied by a mainly very fine and very rare twin-lines large "IONA IONA" (Type IV) Scots Local cancellation with part blue "[OBAN]" cds on the part flap. We have only recorded four covers with this cancel in 40 years and only 4 or 5 pieces. With a fine small c.1850 print of the "Village of Iona". One of the rarest Scottish Islands markings.
