image Philippines, 1944, 16c dark blue, handstamped "VICTORY" (Scott 479), o.g., a glorious stamp with intense color, deeply scribed engraving, and pristine paper; exceptionally well-balanced margins; clear color and application of handstamp; previously hinged, with some disturbance to gum, Very Fine to Extremely Fine, a tough stamp, especially this nice, only 200 examples were overprinted; Geoffrey Brewster's census, published in Possessions, records just 55.

image Philippines, Airmail, 1944, 4c rose carmine, handstamped "VICTORY" (Scott C63), straight edge with guideline at left, part o.g. (some interleaving adhering), rare and desirable stamp, bit better than usual centering; minor corner crease, Very Fine, only 122 stamps were overprinted, 51 unused examples were recorded in Brewster census, signed SUPERIOR LA, with 1951 P.F. certificate (as #C13?).
