Italian States - Papal State 1852, 4 baj yellow and 6 baj greyboth tied by mute Roman grill to ships letter from Civittavecchio to Livorno postes on 5 LULY 1865, m/s "p Vapore" (per steamer) on front. Taxed on arrival and a pair of the Italian 10 c postage due stamp were applied - Italy and the Papal state had no postal treaty at that time and therefore it was not possible to pay the letter for the complete journey. And: Italy made the cancelling of the postage due stamps mandatory in 1869, up to then they normally are not cancelled. Signed and certificate Enzo Dienna.
