WATERCOLOUR MOONSCAPE OF COASTAL TOWN WITH 1d RED 'STARS' EX SOUTHWELL; 20 Dec. 1854 env. (two vertical folds clear of stamp) from Southwell to Lincoln with 1d Red 'Stars' tied by fair Southwell "542" numeral with blue backstamps of Southwell & Lincoln; decorated with an unusual and attractive watercolour view along the top of the address side (stamp and address carefully placed below) showing the moon rising above coastal town. TH[OMAS] JECKYLL SIGNED FRONT/FLAP WITH 1d RED - THE 'STAMP' OF AN ANGEL-CARRIED LETTER; 10 Apr. 1867 front + top flap of env. with 1d Red tied by v. fine London W duplex; the 1d Red doubling as the stamp for an envelope carried by an attractive flying angel; the flap signed in the same hand as the address (and therefore presumably the artist) "Th.
