1856-60 Small Diadems imperforate colour trial proof with blank 'POSTAGE' & Value Tablets and waxed void corner at L/L in yellow-bistre on ungummed vertically laid paper, truncated at the base (which is often the case with this form of proof) with manuscript "Specimen". 1870 First Specimen Issue complete set of Type 1 (Small Designs) or Type 2 (Large Designs) sans-serif diagonal overprints comprising De La Rue 1d 2d 4d & 10d, and Perkins Bacon 3d 5d 6d 8d 1/- & 5/- Coin, plus extra 6d 8d 10d 1/- & 5/- each stated to have a slightly longer overprint, most without gum, generally fine to very fine. Ex Ray Chapman - on his annotated page - Bill McCredie & John Bell. [John Bell also noted a discrepancy of about ½mm in the length of the overprint.
