2d grey Die I Plate 1 with Inserted 'CA' Monogram strip of 3 in a block of 6 (3x2), the corner unit (affected by a light bend) being the Pre-Subsituted Cliché with Retouched Shading NW of the Map ACSC 7(1)z, well centred, the central upper unit is lightly mounted otherwise very fresh and unmounted, Cat $12,800+ for a mounted monogram strip of 3. A rare & desirable block. Ex Colonel Harrie Evans - sold at our auction of 9.5.2001 for $2530 - and 'Dubois' (Part I) - sold for SFr2685.
2d grey Die I with the Watermark Inverted Plate 1 with Inserted 'JBC' Monogram strip of 3 ACSC 7a(1)zd, well centred, hinge remainder in the margin below the central unit, Cat $6500 in a footnote. Rare. Ex 'Dubois' (Part I): sold for SFr2195.

The item is from the upper plate, and so the marginal line has been cut to allow for insertion of the monogram. A rare item, all the more so for being commercially used.

Most are poorly centred and have rough ('fluffy') perfs; this example is well above-average.
9d violet Plate 2 'JBC' Monogram single ACSC 26(2)zc, very well centred, very lightly mounted, Cat $3000. Ex Kevin Nelson - sold for $1120 - and 'Dubois (Part I) - sold for SFr635.

2/- maroon ACSC 38A (SG 74), quite well centred, unusually with clean-cut perforations instead of the characteristic rough perfs, unmounted, Cat $750 (£80 for mounted).
2/- maroon ACSC 38 (SG 74), marginal example from the top of the sheet, very fresh and very well centred, unmounted, Cat $750 (£85+, for mounted). Superb.
