½d green 'JBC' Monogram single ACSC 1(2)zc in vertical pair, the upper unit with Triple Perforations ACSC 1bc at sides & base, a bit aged but lightly mounted, Cat $850+, for a monogram single & triple perfs single. The ACSC states in footnote 6 that "monogram blocks including the triple perf are known ... with JBC monogram, there is a ... block of 6 (price $2500) and a pair". It is not clear whether this is the pair to which the ACSC refers, or another previously unrecorded example.
½d green Plate 1 with the Watermark Inverted No Monogram strip of 3 ACSC 1a(1)za in a block of 6 (3x2) from the lower-left of the sheet, light vertical bend across the right-hand units, a few hinge remainders but the lower units are unmounted, Cat $1800+, for six singles with the watermark inverted. Rare: the only such No Monogram piece recorded. Ex Colonel Harrie Evans: sold at our auction of 9.5.2001 for $2310. [The ACSC does not list or price No Monogram pieces with the watermark inverted, but states that from Plate 2 three 'CA' Monogram pieces (Cat $3500+, for mounted) and one 'JBC' piece (Cat $5000, for mounted) have been recorded]
1d Die I imperforate plate proof in red on thin buff card ACSC 2PP(1)A horizontal pair, margins good to large and virtually free of the wrinkling or creasing that affects most such proofs, Cat $750+ for two singles.

6d ultramarine with Retouched Second 'E' in 'PENCE' [Pos R60] ACSC 17(1)j (SG 9a), minor hinge remainder, Cat $4000 (£2500). From the first printing in January 1913; the unit was substituted with a Die IIA cliché before the second printing in November 1913.
6d blue with Retouched Second 'E' of 'PENCE' (Pre-Substituted Cliché) ACSC 17(1)j [R60] with vertical marginal watermark line at right, very well centred, light Sydney cds well clear of the variety, Cat $1500. An unusually fine postally used example of this scarce variety.
6d ultramarine with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 17Aa (SG 9w), well-centred, a couple of just slightly nibbled perfs at top, light Perth cds, Cat $1000 (£400). Ex Barry Gribble; sold at our auction of 10.3.2007 for $552.
1/- emerald green with the Watermark Inverted ACSC 30Aa (SG 11w) from the upper-right corner of the pane with horizontal & vertical watermark lines, light '[MONEY] ORDER/[ ]JA14/[KYNE]TON' cds, Cat $500 for postally used (£80 for CTO). Much scarcer than CTO examples (Cat $100) and significantly undervalued.

2/- brown block of 4 ACSC 35 (SG 12), a couple of uneven perfs & the horizontal ones weak, the lower units are lightly mounted, the upper units are unmounted, Cat $6800+ (£1100+ for mounted) for singles. 10/- grey & pink and £1 brown & blue both with dubious cancels (Cat $1100 and $3500 respectively for genuine contemporary usages) and £2 black & rose-carmine genuine CTO with Melbourne '24' cds, the latter Cat $5500. (3)
£1 red-brown & blue ACSC 51B (SG 15), quite well-centred, very lightly mounted apparently with some minor re-distribution of the gum, Cat $4500 (£3000) for mounted.

Cat No: 16 shade
£2 black & crimson ACSC 55B (SG 16 shade), well centred & very fresh, Cat $17,500 (£7500+). A very attractive example of this iconic stamp, that is missing from most collections.
£2 black & crimson as ACSC 55 (SG 15) but a Sperati Forgery ACSC 55c, light but untidy Queensland 1913 cds, signed in pencil "Jean de Sperati" on the reverse, Cat $7500. The only Commonwealth of Australia stamp created by Sperati, and a very fine example of this iconic counterfeit by the master-forger.
£2 black & crimson SG 16, CTO at Melbourne ACSC 55w, from the lower-left corner of the pane with horizontal & vertical marginal watermark lines, Cat $5500 (£4000, for used).
£2 black & crimson with 'Specimen' Handstamp ACSC 55Bx (SG 16s) marginal example from the left of the sheet, very fresh and unmounted, Cat $5000. Superb. [Without the handstamp, an unmounted stamp of this quality would be expected to sell for more than $20,000]
PUNCTURED LARGE 'OS': 2d grey ACSC 5Abb (SG O5) marginal example from the upper-left corner of the right pane, lightly mounted in the margin only, the stamp unmounted, Cat $325 (£75+, for mounted).
