Harry St. John Bridger Philby (1885-1960) joined the Indian Civil Service in 1908, where he gained fluency in five Oriental languages. He became an advisor to Ibn Saud, urging the latter to unite all of Arabia under his rule. His son, Kim, became perhaps the most famous double agent in the world.
