'Dockwra type' Penny Paid mark and ms "L" with Receiver name "Brook"; Apr. 1841 Mulready to Wexford, range of London 2d Post and time marks, 1808 EL from GPO addressed to HMS 'Illustrious', 1818 Free EL from Settle to Weymouth with fair, oval "Missent/to/Manchester" mark, etc. Many other interesting covers. image RARE EARLY "ELY" MARK, GREENOCK MX, SOLID CENTRE MXs, QEII ½d SHEETS: Miscellany inc. 1772 EL from Ely, Cambs to Sheffield. Endorsed "By Caxton" and having very fine strike of "ELY" s/l mark in black (CB92g). Very scarce. Also, 18 Jul. 1842 env. to Edinburgh bearing Pl.20 1d red cancelled by fine Greenock MX; two 1d red imperf. singles each cancelled by good strikes of MX showing partial solid centres. EMBOSSED FRANKINGS, OVERSEAS DESTINATIONS, PAQUEBOTS, ETC: Includes Aug 1843 EL to Hathersage bearing Pl.2 imperf. 1d red, 10d embossed, good 4 margin example on Jun. 1850 part wrapper, 1/- embossed (2) both cut to shape on Jul. 1856 env. to New York, 6d purple embossed, margins touched, plus 1d red on 1854 env. to Edinburgh with blue "Leather-Lane" s/l mark, 1/- embossed on wrapper to france with "INSUFFICIENTLY/PRE-PAID" mark. Also several surface printed issues on covers to overseas destinations inc. Apr. 1865 EL from London to Durango franked with a strip of 3 x 4d pale red (small letters), unusual 1870 EL London to Genoa with 1d red & 6d violet cancelled by pen and the latter stamp also cancelled by "PD" in oval mark.
