France, Rixheim Postal History Exhibition Collection, 1809-89. A thoroughly annotated single-frame (16-page) presentation showing the postal upheavals of 19th-century Franco-German enmity.
Rixheim, a small town in the Haut-Rhin Département of Upper Alsace, changed hands between France and Germany five times between 1870 and 1945, resulting in as many changes of postal administrations, issues and markings. This collection focuses on the 1800s, with 40 covers or cards. The story begins with two pre-philatelic covers (dated 1809 and 1833), with stampless covers continuing even after the issuance of France's first stamps (the Haut-Rhin not being provisioned until the early 1850s). Napoléons follow until 1871 with the use of German Occupation stamps, which continues until February 1872. At this point we find, thanks to neither country recognizing the other's postal authority, double-franked (French double affranchissement) covers until the Germans renounced this agreement in May, when solely German frankings were used.
Four French cancels were used for the town during this period, each of which is included here: Type 15 1) without stamps, 2) with small numeral "2685", 3) with large numeral "3154", and 4) Type 16 plus "3154". Special interest material is found throughout, with money letters, turned covers, rural commune box, foreign destinations, a parcel card, a third weight-band letter, Registered, Due, and more.
Rounding out the collection is a fascinating cover from Ecuador using Rixheim's "3154" canceller—one of 25-30 such covers known.
Two Occupation covers accompanied by 2016 Roumet, Schiff & Pagnoux certificates.

France, Mostly Mint 20th Century Stock, 1900-90, arranged in five stockbooks of varying sizes, running from the Blancs to the recent; issues to about 1930 a mix of mint and used, with virtually everything thereafter mint (much never hinged); note numerous dated corner blocks and other margin/positional pieces, including 1c Blancs in blocks of up to 25; a rich field of Sowers including millesime singles and blocks, wartime "GC" papers, pairs and blocks with advertising slogans, etc.; Normandie shades; Allied Occupations (most in backstamp 4); Dulac Mariannes, several with De La Rue imprints, numerous modern booklets including Red Cross; good Semi-Postals; exciting Airs including #440 overprinted for Military Airmail (never hinged), C6b (barely hinged, if at all), C15a (bottom margin single, never hinged) and C14 all signed Calves, plus #C8-C14, C15, etc., etc.; wonderfully fresh throughout, with useful quantities for the dealer, Very Fine overall, your chance to restock. France, Airmail and Back-of-the-Book Stock Accumulation, 1920-88, practically filling a 34-page (68-side) French stockbook; begins with #C1-C2 mint no gum, and includes multiple examples of #C5-C6 and C8-C14 (#C14 no gum), with later Airs in quantity as well; good stock of Council of Europe and UNESCO issues, plus a solid array of pre-cancels from Blancs onward; three pages of Military stamps, plus a page of French Legion items, including a lightly hinged mint Polar Bear sheet; small selection of First Issue Dues to the 50c value, with later issues more fully represented, including #J67 (3, 1 never hinged, 2 used); several Mazelin-engraved test stamps (Lady with Parasol & Marianne); numerous souvenir sheets from stamp exhibitions (1946-88), a couple covers, etc.; quality of early items hit-or-miss, but generally clean and sound; in need of a little gentle wrangling, but most items in rough catalogue order and in useful quantities for the dealer, Fine to Very Fine with much better throughout, well worth inspecting.
