1872 complete editon of the 'Fiji Times' newspaper of November 2, 1872 with 2c on 1d pale blue SG13 ('t' of 'Cents' below 's') tied 'G.P.O/NO4/1872/LEVUKA-FIJI' cds, couple of minor folds & blemishes. Scarce newspaper rate: Alford in 'Fiji Philatelics' (2004) notes 16 recorded, some with faults.
This & the next four lots are from an important original find of issues of Fiji's first newspaper. In each case, the wrapper with the address has been discarded; all have some soiling that is greatly reduced with careful use of a soft eraser.
1935KGV Silver Jubilee frankings range incuding Davuilevu Technical School cover to Ireland with 2d solo, to Natal with 2d solo and 'PARTI/GONE AWAY/VERTREK' cachets, registered to Hawaii with 3d pair endorsed "SS Oklahoma", to American Samoa with 3d single, to England taxed with GB 1d Postage Due (faults) & another endorsed "Late Fee" with 2d x2, to USA with 3d Plate '1A' plus two taxed items, also a few PPCs, etc, plus some FDCs and philatelic covers including Tonga 'Tin Can Mail' item, condition mixed but generally fine.

LEVUKA' cds to NZ (front only), rubber 'RICHMOND' a bit faint on 2d on 'Village' PPC and two fine strikes on 2d + KGVI ½d Pictorial on 1945 cover, ' RABI' on 2d to UK with 'SUVA/18JU35' b/s plus three strikes on loose stamps, then cds of 'LABASA', 'WAIYEVO' & 'SAVU SAVU EAST' on covers plus range on loose stamps, condition mixed but generally fine.

1935 (Dec 14) Jang Hing Loong Co Ltd cover to Sydney with Jubilee 2d, re-directed to Dutch Indies "c/o KPM Line/Batavia" with Australia KGV 2d, Vic Centenary 3d & Kookaburra 6d tied by 'AIR MAIL/SYDNEY NSW' cds and airmail label added, 'BATAVIA' arrival b/s, slightly shortened at right & a couple of minor blemishes. [Walker & Breckon both give the airmail rate from Australia to NEI as 1/- for the first ½oz + 11d per extra ½oz, but we would give the 'benefit of the doubt' to the clerk in the Sydney Air Mail Section to have charged the correct rate]
