1865 (July 4) Entire letter from Hamburg to Singapore, sent via the British Post Office at Alexandria, bearing G.B 1865 1/- plate 4 marginal pair each cancelled "B01" cancels to Singapore, also with a "HAMBURG" c.d.s. on the front, backstamped at Triest (July 7), Alexandria (July 13) and Singapore (Aug. 11). Minor toning and ink erosion to inscriptions, horizontal file fold, still a very unusual and scarce letter from Hamburg to Singapore sent via Egypt, with British stamps added in transit.
