Desaster Mail 1919/1932, two covers: New York 9 Dec 1919 addressed to London with adhesives washed off and boxed "DAMAGED BY IMMERSION IN SEA WATER" // cacheted cover "Xmas Greetings by First All-Australian Air Mail" postmarked "LONDON 18 DE 31" to Sydney with Jan 1932 arrival mark on reverse (this flight was originally planned to carry christmas mails, but accident delayed departure on 18 Dec and again on 22 Dec. 1931. Finally left England on 7 Jan 1932 with letters for Australia, pilots Kingsford Smith and G.U.Allan). Condition: Cover This lot is "Gebotslos".
