image Canal Zone, 1904, 10c yellow (Scott 3), extremely fine, tied by EMPIRE, July 7, 1904, postmark with matching 7-bar CANAL ZONE cancel on neat blue cover to Culebra (July 7 backstamp), large and balanced margins on bright and beautiful stamp, Empire is one of the smaller most elusive post offices, choice; slightly reduced at left, a Very Fine cover, 293 10¢ covers are recorded on the Salz census of which only 22 are from Empire, with 1973 A.P.S. certificate.
