147,3¢ Green on 1870 TX cover, Fine-Avg with Carrollton, TEX ccl and with two page letter full of family names and friends, their health and other things, including that his widowed sister's slaves are still working her farm. Letter signed by Thomas Carten from Bowden, TX Aug. 21, 1870 and written to his son-in-law "Ephraim Watson/Cusseta P.O./Cass County/Texas (population 30 in 2000). Bowden was in Red River Co. and only had a Post Office 1904-1906. (Image)

Special 7 1/4" x 4 1/4" postcard issued by American Legion for the AAMC Lindberghiana #38 flight from Peoria to Chicago to St. Louis. Card printed in black and tan with picture of Lindbergh in flight suit at left, flight info and the American Legion insignia. Address side including a small oval of Lindbergh's head and shoulders. Green flight handstamp reads "LINDBERGH AGAIN FLIES THE AIRMAIL" in horseshoe. These cards, put out by the American Legion, Peoria Post #2, are extremely scarce! (Image)
