Apr. 1910 letter-card with invitation to possibly some form of Air enthusiasts meeting, Sep. 1913 cover ex Swiss Consulate, Valparaiso to Switzerland (not an Air Mail cover) lobbying in support of aviation development, 1919 photographic 'label' produced & signed by Clodomer Figueroa (800 produced) for use on Santiago-Valparaiso flight, special vignette (a half sheet comprising 2 mint examples) for application at Tacna (now in Peru) for a 1924 military flight from Tacna to Santiago. Also a large piece (with Cert. of Posting on reverse) bearing fine used examples of SG 184 & 184a Testart types. An interesting lot. (Image)

image 1938 CRASH MAIL: Group of crash covers inc. 3 covers carried on the Douglas DC2 on the FAM 9 route from Santiago to Cristobal. The plane departed Santiago on 19 Jun. 1938 crashing at 20,000ft in the Andes. The mail was not recovered until Feb. 1941. Each cover bears an explanatory cachet in violet (2 different types). Destinations of the letters were Cristobal, Lima and Bogota. Lot also inc. a badly burned cover from Santiago to Germany recovered from the wreck of the "Ville de Toulouse" Dewoitine 333 which crashed in the Pyrenees en route from Morocco to France on 23 Mar. 1938.
