Each cover bears a shield shaped cachet inscribed "FIRST EXPERIMENTAL FLIGHT" for the given route. 26 Nov. 1929 large (and presumably heavy) cover from Iquique via Santiago to London. Bearing stamps to value $59.90. Putney arrival cds 21 Dec. 1929. Env. roughly opened at one end with folds (through just one outlying stamp) and trivial staining. An unusually high postal charge. Also, a group of Panagra First Flight covers inc. 3 Oct. 1929 cover from Miami to Buenos Aires via Cristobal (7 Oct), Lima & Santiago arriving 15 Oct. at Buenos Aires. Produced by stamp dealer Roessler having large cachet in violet and US frankings to 75c; 12 Oct. 1929 cover from Buenos Aires to Miami via Santiago, Guayaquil & Cristobal (18 Oct. arrival) and onward to Miami via PanAm. Cover bears black First Flight cachet erroneously Cristobal to Chile; pair of covers, each bearing large "FIRST FLIGHT/FAM 9/CANAL ZONE-CHILE/JULY 16 1929" cachet in violet depicting the Osorno volcano. One cover from Miami (10 Jul. 1929) to Santiago (arr. 21 Jul.) via Cristobal, the other cover from Cristobal (16 Jul.) to Santiago (arr. 21 Jul.);Also, 14 Jul. 1929 cover from Guayaquil to Valparaiso with green "CORREO AERO" etiquette and special 3-line Fist Flight cachet "Guayaquil-Valparaiso.
