image POSTAL HISTORY: 1654 brief entire from Scotland headed "Dumfries 14 May 1654" apparently written in Flemish (?) to "Antwerpen", repaired tear clear of the address panel & minor soiling; and 1765 entire mercantile letter headed "Lixa 24 Septemb 1675" to "Amberes" (= Anvers = Antwerp), beginning "Monsieur" but otherwise in Dutch, with a lengthy postscript also in Dutch but in a different hand, minor blemishes, docketing confirms the origin as "Lixboa" (= Lisbon).  (2)

image POSTAL STATIONERY: Attractively presented pre-WWI collection in two bulging albums, principally Postal Cards but also with a good number of Letter Cards and Lettersheets, the majority are unused & most of the used are domestic, two with the 'Sunday Label' crossed-out as was permitted, some uprated including two Express and one Registered, some problems but generally fine to very fine (300 approximately); also a modest batch of covers including 1916 with oval 'LUTTICH-LUXEMBURG/BAHNPOST' datestamp; a colourful array of Exposition labels & other Cinderellas; and long run of the American 'Belgiophile' journal (1997-2016). Ex Michael Barden.
