British Asia, The Road to Mandalay Collection, 1857-1955, on Vintage reproduction pages in blue International binder, an extensive and deep dive into the Orient with many classics and extremely strong 20th century; both used and mint (some never hinged but most o.g.); earlier issues mainly used; a few issues parallel mint and used; mixed condition as expected on a few earlies, but mainly sound with choice examples, nice postal cancels and varieties; a few highlights are (used unless noted): almost 200 different sound Afghanistan, including some earlies; Bangkok #8 and #19; Burma #1-13 used; very extensive Ceylon with many hundreds of different mainly used, including #55, 56a, 65-71, etc.; major Hong Kong, like #86-104, with especially strong Edwardian and 20th century almost complete; respectable Labuan mainly used; major Nepal, mainly complete, including #11 very fine (with PF Certificate); very strong North Borneo, including eight of the 1887-1890 imperfs mint; Sarawak includes #79-93 mint never hinged; many Straits Settlements, mainly used with nice cancels; many used Tigers run wild in the Federated Malay States; also strong showing of individual Malay States, generally Fine to Very Fine, remains a hot area. British Asia, Stockbook Group of Select Collections, a substantial and valuable holding, neatly arranged in a 16-page (32-side, 31 filled) Lindner stockbook; mint and used throughout, with a substantial portion mint; includes solid sections of Malayan States, including good Johore, Kedah, Negri Sembilan, Perak and Trengganu; good Sarawak; lovely Seychelles; nice Tonga and Solomon Islands; strong New Guinea and N.W. Pacific Islands; plus a bit of Africa with strong Transvaal and excellent Nyasaland, including King Edward VII through King George VI pound values; a super lot that extends through the King George VI years with the exception of the Seychelles, which continue with Queen Elizabeth II; fresh throughout, Fine to Very Fine with much better, completely imaged on website.
