New Zealand 1934, The second official trans-Tasman airmail 29 March 1934 by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. The plane was the Fokker VIIb/3m monoplane Southern Cross used in the original trans-Tasman flight of 1928. It was commemorated in a set of historic aircraft issued in May 2001.  The special cover listed the six trans-Tasman flights. Some of the official covers, including the above, have two errors in the list of flights. The special cachet ' trans-Tasman airmail New Zealand Southren Cross ' with dot Above C variety. tying 7d. stamp along with Calcutta April 23, as cover addressed to India. It does have the Sydney backstamp which is at 4pm on the 29 March and Calcutta April 22 1934. 1934 Envelope postmarked with the Royal Train cancel dated 10th December - part of Prince Henry, The Duke of Gloucester, Philatelic tour - the cover was flown on the inaugural Westbound Imperial Airways service on the new Australian extension from Brisbane to Darwin at the start of the first regular airmail route from Australia to England. At Darwin, the 55967 items of mail from Brisbane were transferred to two Imperial Airways aircraft bound for England via Singapore. The scheduled transit time between Brisbane and London was planned to be 12 ½ days.

KLM, Fokker FVIIA/3m trimotor Registered first flight cover sent from Melbourne, Australia and addressed to London, England cover bearing multi franking of 1931 Kingford Smith's World Flights 6d in a block of 6 plus singular (Mi:AU 112 ; Yt:AU PA3, SG 123) and 3d (Mi. 96; SG 122) all stamps are tied by Register postmark May 22. On the reverse is the cachet for the "Australia-Netherlands Indies Special Air Mail Flight - May 1931 Melbourne to Batavia". This flight left Melbourne on May 27, 1931 and arrived in Batavia on May 27, 1931.Â
