(stamps washed off) from Buenos Aires with spectacular v. fine giant purple N.320227a "Accident d'Avion/Correspondences recuilles en mer/NE PAS TAXER" (only recorded in black by Nierinck) on reverse; the plane crashed off the coast of Brazil & the mail was washed up on a beach near Sarita. Plus June 1935 fine env. to Switzerland with Brazil $3.50 & $7 tied by Bahia machine but from Tornado forced down in sea (N.350629) and taken on by SS Westphalen's seaplane, being refuelled by Graf Zeppelin en route across the Atlantic. image 1931 AUSTRALIA TO ENGLAND FLIGHT WITH REFERENCE TO W.A. INVERTED SWAN:19 Nov 1931 printed env. flown on the special Australia to UK Christmas flight. The contents inc. "I once had an exciting afternoon in the Strand & sold a stamp for £100!! it was the blue 4d Western Australia with swan inverted, but only has that sort of luck once" . Also 10 Dec 1931 env.from Edinburgh flown on the Australian National Airways experimental flight To Australia by Charles Kingsford Smith (pilot signed), bears a fine example of the 1931 air mail label.
