1873, 3¢ green (Scott 158), fine, tied by bold negative compass and square fancy cancel with matching Newton, Dec. 2 (1878), Kan., postmark on cover with The Harvey County News, corner card to New York with Dec. 5, REC'D backstamp, Alvarado C. Frederick was postmaster of Newton, J.S. Collister, who was the editor of the paper and the "Eminent Commander" of the Newton Commandery wrote the enclosed letter on masonic stationery inquiring about a questionable member who claimed to be a member of a New York City lodge, excellent masonic cancel on an attractive cover with original masonic content letter, Very Fine.
