image Austria Beautiful and Extensive Collection of Christkindl Postmarked Covers from Austria, 1950 to 2006, all neatly displayed on about 250 Lindner pages, typically with two, sometimes with one cover each page. Because many people wanted to mail their Christmas mail from the village of Chriskindle, starting in 1950 they opened a special post office to cancel and mail out Christmas mail, and each year they designed a new postmark, and this collection reflects this initiative. A lovely collection which includes many covers mailed to Canada, with various frankings, etc. Overall very fine, with only a few faults noted. Not often offered and scarce, certainly worthy of continuation. (Image)
