Austria Beautiful and Extensive Collection of Christkindl Postmarked Covers from Austria, 1950 to 2006, all neatly displayed on about 250 Lindner pages, typically with two, sometimes with one cover each page. Because many people wanted to mail their Christmas mail from the village of Chriskindle, starting in 1950 they opened a special post office to cancel and mail out Christmas mail, and each year they designed a new postmark, and this collection reflects this initiative. A lovely collection which includes many covers mailed to Canada, with various frankings, etc. Overall very fine, with only a few faults noted. Also 25c Penny Red covers which includes #3 on cover (x5), #s 16-22 (x9) and eleven #33 covers including plate numbers 90, 103, 104,124, 168. Also note a #48 plate 4 on 1866 mourning cover, as well as a 1936 British Office in Tangier oversize registered cover to Gibraltar and World War II era military and censored covers. Iceland Group of About 350 Covers To, or From Iceland, 1950s to Modern, with a few dozen having been mailed from Iceland (saw some better frankings, incl. semi-postals) and the rest are from a wide range of different countries to Iceland, with the majority being from Canada, noting many covers franked with the appropriate single stamp paying the rate of the day. There is a variety of cover sizes and a great variety of frankings, postmarks, etc., and this collection took many years to assemble, as Iceland is a tough destination.
