1934 Trans-Tasman First Flight Cover with Three Stamps Showing Varieties, flown April 10-14 to New Zealand and back (Eustis #371) with 6d violet Kingsford-Smith Airmail stamp showing the re-entry in pos. All covers flown except on K72 as the flight was cancelled due to plane damage at the catapult start. K2 was flown on AUG.2.1929, K3 on AUG.20.1929, K72 scheduled for JUL.4.1931 and K107 flown on JUN.12.1932. Also includes an OCT.1934 Germany to US cover sent the entire way by ship. 1934 KLM DC-2 "UIVER" December 20th Recovered Air Crash Cover, plane left Amsterdam on Dec. 19th at 2:30 am, and on the 20th there was a radio message saying that the plane was in trouble and that was the last communication. The plane's wreckage was spotted on the 21st and all 7 occupants were found dead and it was believed the plane was struck by lightening, thus capsizing and bursting into flames trying to land. Some mail was recovered, including this scarce cover. Ex Michael Rogers and is accompanied by a newspaper cutting and a crash write-up by James Hester. Typical plane crash condition. (Image)

DO-X had technical problems and both were sent by sea from the Canaries to South America. Both are Frost catalogue #s DoX-6Ba.
