A Marvelous Playing Card Stamps Collection, 1862-1940, A 24-page Exhibition-quality collection (though with a few stamps missing) in an Elbe Roosevelt album; starts with the six First Issue Revenues (R2c//R28c) including black India plate proofs of the 4¢ & 5¢, then includes plate blocks of RF1 (2), RF2 & RF3 (2), followed by RF5 (3 plus a block of 6 of the Los Angeles provisional overprint with a P.F. certificate, RF7a, RF8, RF12, RF12c, RF14, RF14a, RF15 (signed Geo. Sloane), RF16 (unused), RF16 with a double overprint (not listed), RF17 plate block, RF18(3), RF19 block of 4 with plate no. and RF21; then an exceptional variety of cancels and precancels, plus 16 different Private Die Proprietaries, with India plate proofs of three of them. Condition appears to be clean and F-VF throughout. The owner has penciled his asking prices under the mounts of every different item, those prices totaling $29,000. A truly fabulous lot.
