1927 (June 21), Byrd Transatlantic Flight from New York to Paris, stunning cover with Post Office Department corner card to Paris; franked by 5¢ definitive plus #C10 (Byrd had just lost the race across the Atlantic to Lindbergh) and cancelled Mineola, NY; front also bears Neuilly s Seine receiver (July 3) and is autographed "Kindest regards, R E Byrd"; officially carried as Byrd was sworn in as an Airmail Pilot prior to departure, with typed greetings card enclosed signed by the Second Assistant Postmaster General, Very Fine.
