1842 AU w/ remarkably proof-like surfaces, pure white from an earlier dipping which has rendered a few light hairlines similar to those acquired by proof coins when they are handled. Overall, a very nice coin great for type. (There is an interesting 3mm die bulge in the left obv field by Liberty's wrist. It does not impair the look of the coin at all.) (Image)

1843 F+ natural medium-grey w/ a few darker areas on the obv at K10-11 and K 2-3. Still a nice coin. Bowers has opined that the 1842 to 1849 mintage of Seated Dollars were intended for domestic use unlike the 1840 - 41 issues which were intended for trade. There may be some validity to this suggestion for 1842 & 1843 because they are the most commonly found dates in the series, and they rarely come with chopmarks, the clear indicator of use in international trade. 1847 Good a few minor rim taps but sound and original. Unusual to see Seated Dollars this worn. (Image)

1871 VF+ perhaps better. Not a particularly appealing coin due to its "look", but magnification reveals a lot of detail. Typical of the issue, the rev is a bit stronger than the obv. (Image)
