image British Commonwealth Mixture of Mostly Mint Never Hinged Stamps from Great Britain and Caribbean Countries, with booklets, presentation packs and more. Three proof presentation packs for Montserrat Scott 551-3 start off this lot. The Great Britain material includes 15 presentation packs, both decimal and pre-decimal, as well as a 1977 and a 1980 Collectors Packs and 8 booklets with a total face value of £15 and pages of mostly pre-decimal mint blocks. Then 10 presentation packs from Australia and 3 from St. Vincent. Then from St. Vincent, complete sheets of the Rowland Hill, Royal wedding and USA Independence sets, a set of 7 booklets of the Grenadines islands maps and mint and cancelled booklets of the 1986 Royal Wedding in both perf and imperf condition. image 1935 Silver Jubilee Complete Mint Omnibus and Different Design Sets, with flaws and extras. The Gibraltar 1sh has the S.G. listed “short extra flagstaff” flaw quoted at £550, while the Nigeria 1½d has an unlisted flaw “smoke from the chapel and right-hand turret”. A rarely seen stamp from British Forces in Egypt, Scott M9 (c.v. $350) is also included. We noted the Great Britain set is not included. Scott c.v. for the common design and others only is $1,350, for a total of $1,700. Very fine. (Image)

image Mint and Used Collection and Accumulation, in albums, stockbooks and envelopes. Thousands of stamps from a 3-margin Penny Black and a set of Canada First Cents issue, to bird stamps of Pacific island nations are distributed in 5 stockbooks, 4 albums on loose album pages and in envelopes. Most material to the 1940s is generally used whereas material from the Elizabethan era is generally mint never hinged. A large part of the later material is related to a bird theme but we also saw orchids and other themes. Only one and a half stockbook page is Canada but it includes 7 Large Queens with a 2c on watermarked Bothwell paper (Unitrade 24a c.v. $550) and a mint Scott 91 (c.v. $250). We also saw mint never hinged Pakistan 1-19 (c.v. $207), Kuwait 26-36 (c.v. $120), a two-album set of London 1980 issues and two copies of a 1983 Commonwealth Day issues from 60 countries. A large lot that will provide more finds. Generally very fine. (Image)

image Mint Never Hinged British Commonwealth and Great Britain Remainder Lot, consisting of stamps, souvenir sheets and First Day covers, primarily housed in two binders on White Ace album pages and black stock sheets. The first binder contains three topical collections: 2002 Queen Mother, (mint never hinged stamps and souvenir sheets from roughly 17 different Commonwealth countries); 2002 Golden Jubilee, (mint never hinged stamps and souvenir sheets from roughly 20 different Commonwealth countries); 2003 Coronation, (mint never hinged stamps and souvenir sheets from roughly 14 different Commonwealth countries). The binder also includes 28 pages of mint never hinged stamps and souvenir sheets from Gibraltar, (years 2002-2004). The second binder contains a topical collection of Trafalgar, (mint never hinged stamps and souvenir sheets from roughly 20 different Commonwealth countries); 24 pages of mint never hinged stamps and souvenir sheets of Isle of Man, (the majority from 1999-2013); 12 Great Britain modern First Day covers, (includes William Wordsworth coin); and 34 Great Britain PDQ cards. This interesting group also 25 Presentation packs, (16 Isle of Man from 2007-2009, 2013; 7 Jersey from 2015-16; 1 Alderney from 2009; 1 Guernsey from 2009); 2 Prestige booklets (Isle of Man and Jersey); 1984 Royal Mail book (stamps in mounts); 80 modern Great Britain First Day covers; 195 Great Britain PDQ cards; and roughly 70 notebook pages of used Great Britain, (98% accumulation of used Queen Elizabeth II issues). image Collections of British Royal Events, with many hundreds of stamps in black mounts on quadrille pages, from Commonwealth nations and including the various omnibus issues. These are housed in 5 flawless Stanley Gibbons albums that are still in their original cardboard packaging. The events covered in these collections are: the Queen Mother's 85th and 90th birthdays, Charles and Diana's 10th wedding anniversary, Sarah and Andrew's wedding, Queen Elizabeth II's Silver Jubilee and her 60th birthday. The albums contain various commemorations. Also includes one Westminster Collector's Society album of Queen Elizabeth II Silver Anniversary of Coronation FDCs and two smaller collections of Tokelau and the Cocos (Keeling) Islands in one of the Royalty albums. image Various Parallel Mint and Used Collections of Various Caribbean Countries, to about 1975, in 9 albums. This collection includes, in order of importance, Bermuda, St Lucia, Grenada, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. The Bermuda collection is the most extensive and the one with the most developed Victoria era section. Among the many better items, we noted Scott mint 18-26, with 25a, (c.v. $246), 55-69 (c.v. $142) and a nice section of George VI Keytypes including 3 different mint pound values (total c.v. $892). St. Lucia really starts with the Edward VII period and goes longest, to 1997. In addition to mint and used sets, it features a large number of “specimen” overprinted sets from 1983 on. Grenada is strongest in the early issues such as mint #s 39-48 (c.v. $140) and 91-112 (c.v. $147). Owner’s identification of early issues and varieties has not been checked by us. Singles or sets of note include the owner-identified Barbados Scott #70-80 (2020 c.v. $305), #179a (S.G. #252ba, "line above horse's head", c.v. £140), St. Helena #81 (S.G. #99b, "torn flag", c.v. £100), British Solomon Protectorate #1-7 (c.v. $336), British Guyana #210-222 (c.v.$179), British Honduras #62-71 (used, c.v. $1,026) and Seychelles Die I complete first set of 1890 (c.v. $256) and some perforated Penny Reds with Northern Ireland and Scottish cancels. We noted many different countries (Great Britain, Bahamas, Canada, Gambia, Guyana, India, Jamaica, Malta, Maldives, Trinidad and Tobago, and many others) with a group of about 25 souvenir sheets from Guyana and Gambia retail priced at over $475. There is a brand new album, "The Commonwealth Collection", issued in 1982 at one of the meetings of the Commonwealth heads of state. We also noted a few non-Commonwealth countries included here and there. While we noted a few album pages with stuck-down stamps, the vast majority of this lot is fine or better, and it would appeal to British Commonwealth collectors and resellers equally. image British Commonwealth Accumulation, with mint and used from an old time collection in glassines, auction and album pages. The glassines contain primarily King George VI issues including a large selection of mint and used low value 1948 Silver Wedding singles, blocks, and 13 corner blocks (including Hong Kong), all with very fresh colors, along with a selection of Peace and Coronation Omnibus sets and Definitive issues with a few glassines cataloging up to $20 (Scott 2021 pricing). The lot continues with a set of mint hinged Trinidad & Tobago, Scott #s 34-42 (c.v. $87), and a selection of mint hinged Fiji low value definitives ranging from 1903-1923 (c.v. $224 total), a selection of used in a loose leaf notebook with strength in India, Australia and States, and New Zealand, and 1945-49 King George VI stitched booklets (x6, containing 3 panes of 4 stamps, separated by glassine and paper with advertising), along with a 1941 Bermuda stapled booklet containing 5 panes of 6 stamps, separated by glassine. The lot rounds out with a selection of old time pages with various mint and used (roughly a few hundred stamps, with almost all the mint stamps and some stuck to the pages due to damp storage and older hinges). The group begins with three stockbooks of stamps from the Caribbean, containing roughly 1,000 stamps, (primarily used along with mint never hinged souvenir sheets), with examples of Victorian era material with strength towards the King George VI era onwards. We note better countries include Jamaica, Trinidad, Antigua with Scott #s 31-38 mint hinged (c.v. $195), Dominica, St. Vincent, just to name a few. The lot continues with a stockbook of Ireland of primarily used stamps (roughly 1,000), ranging from 1922-2009, along with a binder of British Guiana ranging from King George VI onward; a binder containing a few hundred stamps of India (including 26 pages of Indian States), from the Victorian era onwards; a small binder of Ceylon, ranging from King Edward VII onward; and a binder of mint and used British North America which includes primarily Newfoundland stamps in 102 cards (roughly 100 cards unpriced), and New Brunswick (owner's c.v. $237).
