image German Area, "Frisch und Munter" Mostly Never Hinged Collections, 1872-2010, In nine like-new hingeless Lighthouse albums with slipcases, a very attractive all-mint collection encompassing nearly the entire German Realm with one volume for Reich & Allied Zones, three for Bund, three for Soviet Zone & DDR, one for Berlin, and one for WWI & WWII Occupied Zones. What sets this collection apart is the fact that it is mostly never-hinged, including pre-1945 Germany with such better MNH sets & singles as #8, 15, 21, 27, 37-42, 52-63, 70-71, 76, 79, 363-65, 387, 391-97, 432-35, 442-43, 444-45, 446-47, 448-51, 459-62, 586B, B8-11, B15-18, B19-22, B23-27, B91-92, B102-06, B107-15, B119, B123-31, B144, B145, B148-59, B292-93, C35-37, C56, O62-79, 5N28-40, 8N28-37. Other better mint, albeit hinged, include 64, 351-62, 366-84, 398-400, B28-32, B59-67, C20-26, C27-34. Bundesrepublik is virtually complete, some hinged early on, like the Posthorn set, but extras too, such as Framas and dozens of booklets throughout the collection. Berlin is very nearly complete with such premium as 9N1-20, 9N35-41, 9N42-60, 9N108-10, 9NB1-3, and except for the early souvenir sheets, DDR is also more or less complete. The volume of WW Occupation is sporadically filled but does have complete collections of Bohemia & Moravia and Generalgouvernement, as well as many better sets, for example, the Occupation of Latvia 1N14-19, Occupation of Ljubljana (Laibach) N36-54, Occupation of Serbia 2N1-15, 2NC1-10, and a complete set from the Feldpost of the Flemish Legion (MiNr. image German Area, Mint & Used Collections & Accumulation, 1849-2015, 15 albums, 15 stockbooks, and 17 other binders along with more loose material on pages, folders and counter books. Collections cover the entire realm of Germany, from the States up to West Germany in 1990, the year of reunification. Albums from SAFE, Lindner, Lighthouse, Davo, Schaubek and others with multiple collections of Berlin and DDR, along with a substantial amount of stock, both mint & used well into the 21st century. And a lot of this modern stock should be examined carefully, because you will encounter plate flaws alongside illustrations, numerous coil strips with control number on back, and simple definitives in horizontal pairs, which may appear to catalog under $1, but Scott #796 for example, which is in one of the stockbooks catalogs €400 as a used horizontal pair in Michel. Quite a few covers too including separate binders for Feldpost and French Zone, and other material not seen everyday, like a mint sheet folder with income tax stamps in full & partial sheets along with other revenues, a stockbook of Automatenmarken and modern local post, 5 & 10 DM coins from the 1970s, as well as coins & bank notes from around the world. Without question, a lot of value here and worth the trip for an on-site examination, overall Fine to Very Fine. Shipping charges apply - weight 229 lbs. image German Democratic Republic, "Official Notice" Monumental Mint & Used Collection of Officials with Covers, 1954-83, A total of eleven hingeless Lindner albums with a collection of Dienstmarken like no other. And a Scott catalogue simply won't cut it for a holding like this; the first issue alone (Scott #O1-27) takes up more than an entire volume with variations on the watermark, emblem type and perfs, as well as spaces for mint, postally used and CTO. We then get into the ZKD issues (Zentraler Kurierdienst) and much of this will be uncharted territory, even for many who already collect the DDR. The ZKDs extend over multiple volumes with specialization in the 4-digit control numbers and many higher-priced items to be found throughout, for example, a used VD (Vertrauliche Dienstsachen) #2 with a BPP certificate, and mint & used copies of ZU (Zustellungsurkunde) #1. Also, an extensive collection of register labels used for official use, and four of the eleven volumes housing a collection of over 200 covers, the vast majority meticulously described with all pertinent information. Many full sheets too, and once we hit the 1990s, the highly collectible Zehnerbogen (blocks of ten). 100's upon 100's of used blocks as well, and for many of the earlier definitives, this brings up the topic of Waagerechte Paare (horizontal pairs) which sell at a premium. image Togo, "Counter Offer" Mint Souvenir Sheets, Booklets & Blocks in Counter Books, 1937-2010, Housed in four counter books, incredible mint stock of strictly souvenir sheets, booklets and se-tenant blocks & strips with such better as #C121a (2), C194D, C223a (3, perf & imperf), and Scott-unlisted material as well, like six souvenir sheets of the 1964 Kennedy issue with and without silhouette of Kennedy's head (MiNr. Blocks 12 & 13), and two souvenir sheets commemorating the 1976 Summer Olympics (MiNr. Block 100A), but the emphasis is on the modern era, with many items in duplication but not crazy amounts, normally just one or two extras. And this lot is not just for the collector of French Africa but a treasure trove for the topical collector as well. One book can be viewed online, but be sure to check out our other offerings, as this is just part of the vast holdings from a former stamp dealer on the West Coast, whose meticulous work in organizing and identifying each item, along with condition and catalogue value, makes this an ideal lot for the reseller as all the work has already been done, Fine to Very Fine, total cat well over $3,500. Shipping charges apply - weight 9.4 lbs. (Video for this lot) (Video2 for this lot) (Image)
