Collection of Province of Québec "Q" Datestamps, 1867 to 1910, with over 70 covers and cards, plus a few Small Queen stamps, all with datestamps (broken circles or double broken circles) with the letter "Q" at bottom, used either for despatch or receiving purposes. As expected, most are from Montréal, but we also noted scarcer ones such as Adamsville, Pearceton, Father Point, Franklin (unusual c.d.s.), Parkhurst, Franklin Centre and St Jean Baptiste de Rouville. There are many more postmarks of interest in this group, as well as early Small Queen usages (1870-1873, including 1c, 3c and 6c) as well as a few Large Queen covers and stampless. Our scans show some of the "other sides" of Q postmarks to give an idea. Mixed condition, still overall fine to very fine. Also includes a thick file folder full of information on these unusual postmarks, with articles, correspondence, lists, photocopies and more. (Image)
