1866 Trans-Atlantic Cover to Scotland, mailed from Charlottetown on JUL.20.1866 to Edinburgh, Scotland (scarce and lovely strike of "EDIN b M" AUG.13 receiver on back). The cover is franked with three 2d dull rose first issues (perforated 9) plus a 3d blue 1862-65 single paying 9d. Faults described on the (pink) 2004 Greene Foundation certificate as "... {stamps} cleaned to lighten pen cancels, heavily creased along cover crease with some perforation damage", still a rare franking / destination, ex Maurice Burrus and Dr. R. V. Carr. (Image)
