image 1874 32c Pre-UPU Small Queen Registered Cover to France, mailed from St Barnabé (Qué) on AUG.27.1874 and addressed to Bréhal, France, and traveled there on the Allan Line Polynesian, departing Québec City on AUG.29, arriving Liverpool on SEP.8, London SEP.8 (red registration ova applied), Calais SEP.9 (boxed R applied) and finally Bréhal (SEP.10). The cover is franked with 1c (x2), 3c (x6) and 6c (x2) totaling 32c which pays for the 10c per ¼ oz + 22c registry fee. These stamps are mostly all faulty, having been folded over the edges due to a lack of space on the cover. Obvious faults (mostly to the stamps), still a very rare cover, being the only reported Small Queen cover paying the 32c registered rate, and one of only four pre-UPU registered covers to a foreign destination other than the US and the UK.
