Original Gerald Wellburn Album Page Illustrating Proposed British Columbia Stamp Designs, the page is entitled "Nov. 1868 - The Proposed Design by De La Rue & Co. for the 5c to $1.00 Issue of 1869" and the page describes the process that lead to the adopted surcharge design, using three real stamps (each altered) to illustrate various proposals for this issue. We are uncertain as to whether it was Mr. Wellburn or De La Rue altered these stamps, still a truly interesting page and an important part of the British Columbia's philatelic heritage. (Image)
