image Canadian Provinces: Newfoundland, 1895-1912, Lovely group of six philatelic covers from St. John's to Cincinnati, OH, all sent registered, five of them via Boston, the sixth via New York; mostly colorful frankings, three on stamped envelopes; includes 1865 24¢ blue (#31) on a 3¢ entire (#U1a), Dec 1895; an 1894 12¢ brown (#29) used with a 2¢ orange (#48a) on a 5¢ entire (#U2), Nov 1910; and an 1894 6¢ carmine lake (#36) single franking on Post Office Business envelope, Mar-Apr 1896; other stamps used include Scott #73, 92A & 96; Scott value of the used stamps alone is over $300.
