image image China, Extensive Mostly Junk-Franked Correspondence Holding, 1914-17, approximately 80 covers (many still with original enclosures) and three uprated postal cards, most sent from the British-American Tobacco Co. in Shanghai to Van Ingen Co. in New York City; a great range of mixed frankings with a few single frankings as well, with pairs, blocks and imprint singles among them; many sent from Shanghai or Peking, but note other cities including Hankow, Tamingfu, Chentow, Hanchwanhsien, Tingchow, Nankou, Changte Ho, etc., a Moukden transit, and a number of US-franked (not Offices in China) cancelled US Postal Agency in Shanghai; uses include Registered, A.R., double Registered, Parcel Post, Censored, a Postage Due cover with scarce bilingual handstamp, etc., with numerous auxiliary markings; several with attractive red wax seals still intact; mixed condition with some damage, but an appealing lot for the postal historian, Fine to Fine-Very Fine, fully imaged online—and well worth review.
