Extensive Collection of Used Prince Edward Island Issues, neatly displayed on 17 album pages with catalogue numbers and descriptions. Includes a basic set, plus a plethora of papers, shades, perforations, dies and varieties, and combinations thereof, some unlisted in Unitrade. We also note the presence of a 6d bisect tied to piece, with an accompanying letter from Billig & Rich (New York) dated 1947, attesting to its authenticity (the piece is also signed Rich). Catalogue value is from Scott Specialized for only those items listed there, all others counted as regular stamps (two bisects were not counted). A very nice and extensive collection which took years to carefully assemble, overall fine to very fine. Have a look at this lovely offering online. (Image)

Extensive Collection of Mint Prince Edward Island Issues, with Many Extras, a most comprehensive collection, neatly displayed on 18 album pages with catalogue numbers and descriptions. Left intact and offered as received, this collection includes all of the basic issued stamps, plus a plethora of extras such as shades, perforation changes, printing errors and flaws (with many constant, indicating from which position) and much more (there are no imperforates). Some items not listed in Unitrade are identified using S.G. or Lehr numbers or descriptions. For reference, a basic set of PEI comprises 16 stamps - this collection has a whopping 94 different mint stamps. The 4 different perforated 9 first issues all have original gum and a spot check of the rest of the collection revealed a mix of hinged and never hinged and nice quality throughout, with a great many well centered stamps. A very conservative catalogue value, using Scott for hinged only and shades only, counting all the varieties as regular stamps, comes to over $9,800, which, if counted in Unitrade would be much higher because of all the NH and varieties. The collection continues with a set of 10 different 6d reprint die proofs as well as two very fine Bartlett letter heads, each with a different watermark. A once in a lifetime opportunity to acquire such a lovely and extensive collection. All pages scanned online. (Image)
