image Canadian Provinces: Nova Scotia, 1922, "First Air Mail Halifax To St. John's January 1922", violet boxed handstamp and manuscript endorsement "By Aerial Mail" on a mourning cover addressed to St. Johns, franked with 34¢ in Admirals tied by illegible c.d.s.'s and backstamped Halifax, Jan 20, 1922; reduced a tad at right in opening, otherwise Very Fine. Accompanied by uncorroborated information from an anonymous source stating that the aircraft was wrecked and that the mail was forwarded by steamer. The postmark is said to be that of Kentville, N.S. A most interesting cover.
