1908 "Preparing for a Balloon Ascension at Le Mans" black and white photographic print measuring 20 x 18 inches (image is 16 x 23½). A lovely print on Kodak paper showing Wilbur Wright in the basket of Leon Bollee's spherical balloon "Au Petit Bonheur" at Le Mans. Wilbur made this ascension with Renee Pelletier and Léon Carre (in photo). The photo was identified by Dawne Dewey, head of the Wright Brothers historical personal archives at Wright State University. She could not identify the photographer but she did say that it could only have been done by one of the personal photographers that the Wright brothers used, because these were their personal photographs. An important item, with great subject matter, stored in a non-smoking environment and suitable for framing. Offered in an archival quality PVC rigid sleeve. (Image)
