image Jamaica, 1812, folded letter to Edinburgh, Scotland, postmarked on the reverse with manuscript "Black River" (PS3, thirteen years earlier than previously recorded) and large "JAMAICA/ 17 JAN" fleuron datestamp; datelined Thatchfield, Jan 14, with manuscript "p packet" and rates "ppd 1/3" with postmaster's initials "AG" and "2/3"; red Mar 3 Edinburgh receiver on the front; tear on flap just clear of the datestamp, Fine to Very Fine, includes a transcript of the letter between two brothers. A very rare manuscript marking with only two examples recorded by Foster, Ex-Mahfood.
