image 1933 Columbia Complimentary Flight to Toronto, Canada, the new catalogue erroneously states the flight was to Montréal, but the cachet and postmarks clearly indicate it went to Toronto on July 15th 1933. The Columbia flew to Haiti and back from New York, and then up to Canada. The pilot was J. Erroll Boyd and co-pilot was Robert G. Lyon, and both signatures are present. A very fine and rare cover. image 1921 St. John's-Botwood-Fogo Flight Covers, both covers postmarked at St. John's (MAR.10.1921) with one cover franked with 4c Caribou and the second with a 5c Caribou stamp. Both covers received a Fogo broken circle (MAR.28.1921) postmark on the reverse. Mail was forwarded to Botwood by rail from St. John's, with the plane landing on the ice at Fogo and returning to Botwood later that day. AMCN2 value $150 each, which would indicate a low number of covers were flown. Both covers have a light crease in the middle of the envelope, and should be an item of interest for the airmail specialist. (Image)
