THE 1882 RE-ENGRAVED 6¢ ROSE IS UNDENIABLY ONE OF THE MOST CHALLENGING STAMPS TO ACQUIRE IN SUCH EXCEPTIONAL CONDITION.
Despite being a prominent Scott listing, the Rose shade is considerably scarcer than the Brown Red sub-shade, Scott 208a. The presented example here, featuring light hinging and impeccable centering, stands as a genuine rarity in terms of condition.

We note that an example Graded 98J was sold at Siegel Auctions in 2019 (Sale 119, Lot 1282) for a hammer price of $6,250. In our opinion, this is a better stamp, as the Siegel copy was off center to the left.
