382     69b imageMexico, 1868, Hidalgo (thick figures, perforated), 50c blue on light pink, color error (Puebla). Cons 14-68, without name of district, o.g., full margins, Very Fine, very rare, especially so in mint condition, signed J.K. Bash, with 2005 M.E.P.S.I. certificate.

This error was caused early in the issue when a thick figure 50c cliche was misplaced on the 25c plate (Stone C) at two positions, one of which was corrected by redrawing the denomination and the other creating this error. The error was quickly caught with a few examples getting out in the first shipments of the issue. It is known from Puebla, Oaxaca, Orizava, Queretaro and Veracruz districts.

Cons 280, on registered front to Pinos dated May 1884, tied by blue grid handstamp with matching boxed "Franco" handstamp and Fresnillo box date stamp, bold Fresnillo certification date stamp at center; couple small edge nicks, still Very Fine, probably 75 registered fronts exist of this issue exist, they are all fronts as the postal rules required the addressee to sign as proof of receipt.
